How to get this effect

As the title really. Ive tried a few different methods but cant get the same look. Anyone know how and would explain it to me. Thanks alot for any help

Just play with adding different textures with different blending modes, they credit one they've used in a link under the image.

Yeah thats what Ive been doing but I cant get the fade off into the whites and greys to look right.

It will depend on your starting image of course, but big soft brushes to mask areas in and out at varying opacities would be a good place to start. Don't get too hung up on trying to recreate what other people are doing anyway.

Thanks, I just really like the effect and hate when I cant work out how stuff was done lol
