How to do a clean reinstall of a Canon Pro 300 Printer

I purchased this printer second hand a few months ago and it's worked perfectly. However today when I went to print at A3+ I'm only getting part of the image. Searching online suggested it may be because I'm connecting wirelessly and the buffer is too small to cope with large file sizes or I've had network drop out. The printer still works flawlessly at A4 on wireless

However what I can't work out is how to force the connection via USB so I'm thinking probably the best way forward is a clean reinstall. I've tried removing the printer in Control panel and then connecting. I've tried a reset via the panel menu on the top of the printer but with no luck.

Any help would be very much appreciated. I'm using Windows 8.1
