Hi all,

Having bought the Manfrotto 393 Head, I cannot detatch it from the central column. Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

Oscar

If you look under the base plate there are three set screw's (C in the diagram) that screw up onto the base of the 393, you need to remove these first, then undo it.

Dont lose those screws, you will need them.

mine doesn't use those screws. It only screws on using the middle screw on the 393 Head.

Then why wont it just unscrew off? Is it stuck?

Insert an allen key into the hole (b) in the base, and give it a tap in an anticlockwise direction. I had the same problem and found that this did the trick.

They Don't screw into the head they just lock it in place have tried backing them off?

Put a "object" into point B and twist it off..............

Small philips screwdriver, punch, meat skewer, large nail.......summat along those lines.

Or raid the wifes kitchen drawer...........:D
