Hi,

I need to create images similar to these:

fly2.jpg

fly1.jpg

It's for college assignment and I'm a bit stuck. Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

I'v got a glass lampshade similar looking when photographed.

Edit: Or are you looking for refractions?

Lampshade? Never thought of that :)

Thanks a lot for that!

If you don't mind taking a pic I would love to see that (no pressure though :D )

Thanks a lot for both tips!

I was also considering photoshop but couldn't get anything even close.

You might have some luck in photoshop if you start with a photo of some bubble wrap and then lay images in the bubbles. Would be hard to do it well though.

That's such a good idea! I tried photographing through bubble wrap but as you can imagine the results were rubbish :) Your idea is better though. I'll try it now thanks:thumbs:

That's a load of nuts! Polished/chromed, dome head wheel nuts to be more precise.

On the same theme but a completely different set up, how about "The last thing a hedgehog sees" - the front end of a Reliant 3-wheeler's tyre...

I'm not going to copy the 'fly' picture directly though. I was thinking something like open bird's beak for example. I was considering a close up of a poop as well :D (The assignment is: The world from a fly's perspective).

What about a distorted view of a driver through a (very close) car windscreen :D

It looks like a matrix of hexagonal holes, possibly with a concave front surface, (like perhaps a shop display for pens) with a lens at the end of each hole (water?). Place it between the camera and the subject and photograph the back of it?
