No
its been a while since I actually did anything that a RAW conversion on my snaps and I can't for the life of me remember how to do this.

I want to make a copy of a image but with a gradient. I used to use the gradient tool on the pallet, make my selection then do something so I could copy the gradient image into another layer where I could adjust it. Bolloxed if I can remember what I did

google searches just bring up doing a layer adjustment and that's not what I did.

Can you not just create a new layer - the new layer being a gradient ?

assuming you want to create a gradient to work on a sky seperate to a foreground?

I would.....
Duplicate original layer
add layer mask
drag gradient on the layer mask (hide original layer to see what you left with after mask is applied)
adjust layers as required

Do you mean a gradient for the sky or a gradient map to tone the image?

I want to copy the gradient into a new layer (not have a gradient layer) if you understand. its not specifically the sky I want just want ever gradient I select. in a similar way that you would use the select tool and copy and past

Not sure I fully understand what it is you're trying to achieve.

Do you want the original image as one layer and then the same image (but with a gradient) together as another layer ?

If that's the case, make a duplicate layer of the original image (2nd layer), make a gradient layer (3rd layer), turn off the original image layer and merge the two visible layers (2nd and 3rd).

Are you trying to copy a gradient from one image to another, and where does the selection part come in, what is it your trying to select? Adding the gradient itself is easy so theres something I'm missing here.

Edit; are we in camera raw or photoshop proper?
