Hi there,
I'm a total newbie when it comes to video, I have recorded a clip on my go pro hero 2 and a clip on my nikon d3100, how do I edit the two clips to so they are one clip?

Thanks

Hi

You could use some simple Video editing software, Windows movie Maker if you use Windows is free, There is probably a Mac equivalent.

I use MAGIX Easy, which is nice and simple, Like me

The only thing I suppose you need to do is make sure both cameras are shooting at the same resolution and frame rate, if not there are re-encoders that will change one to match the other.

Hi Paul,
I use a Mac, what platform is magix for? Is it a free software?

I don't think they were shot at the same frame rate and res. where would I get said encoder? Sorry for all the questions, like I said total newbie :P

Thanks

Hi

Do you have imovie on you mac, that may work.

Most Mac's have iMovie as standard. It's dead easy to edit and add footage. iMove won't worry to much about frame rate differences. it will match them automatically, using the first clip as reference.

You can also set up frame and resolutions at the start of a new project. This will make sure they are the same . iMovie is very very easy to use. Have a look at some of the tutorials on the web before you start to get the best out of it. . Simply put, you import both clips into iMovie. Start a new project. Drop clip one onto the time line, then clip two. Export and done. It is that easy.

Awesome!! I'll have a look tomorrow if I have iMovie and if I do ill give it a go! :) will update!

Ok so I've checked my mac for Imovies and found that I don't actually have it :( any other suggestions? Or is there a way to get Imovies free?

I'm surprised you don't have iMovie. Mac's going back 5 years or more had this as standard. Try looking on the original install disk or go to the App Store and see if it will let you download it for free. Failing that it's not an expensive purchase anyway and will do the job for you

I'll have another look on the mac of not like you said I'll have a look in the App Store. :)
