Yes
I'm already wearing glasses but sometimes an image doesn't seem sharp enough and other times it seems far sharper when its uploaded. :suspect:

I've been using

Unsharp Mask

Radius 6
Strength 30-40
Clipping 5

A radius of 6? Are you sure it's not 0.6?

Using a large radius like that gives a very different effect, a bit like the clarity slider in ACR/Lightroom - it increases contrast locally.

That sounds a bit steep. I normally go for radius 2, at 50%, threshold 0, after someone her posted it as a good starting point a year or two ago. Sometimes it has to be repeated, but normally thats enough on a well focused RAW image.

I think many people have their own preferences on this, its what works for you.

Try again with Yv's settings or a radius of 0.8, strength 150 and clipping 12, presuming you're looking for sharpening images for posting online and have already re-sized to output size. If the image is being used for something else then the values needed will be quite different. These days I just use the sharpening values from LR on medium and set if for the appropiate media type and it does a pretty good job

Np , just thought i'd ask :)

Never had anyone complain about over sharpness in my images , guess its just me being paranoid lol

Cheers guys , got the info i need

Of course if you're hosting on flickr and posting the flickr generated version it's doing it's own sharpening as well which can be a bit aggressive at times.

Ok what i did is got a shot with alot of stones and rocks and tried it out...

A radius below 2.00 wasn't enough

So now its

Radius 2.40
Strength 130
Clipping 5

Much better , thanks alot! :)

Have also tried which is nice too

Radius 4.00
Strength 40
Clipping 4

Ok, once you've scaled down for web you'll need to sharpen it again.
