Hi Guys

Apologies if this is in the wrong part of the forum.

I have recently sold a few pictures to some friends and their family members so haven't really sold for a lot of money.

Someone has contacted me and they want one of my images, the size they are after is 70x50, Can anyone tell me where I could get this size printed off and how much roughly you would consider charging as I am a complete novice at this.

Thanks

pixels, mm, cm, inches or feet ? Because it could be any of those.... knowing the actual size is important.

Secondly I'm making a general assumption that this is a private sale (i.e. to an individual), and not to a business ?

Finally it would be good to know what the image is of - to determine uniqueness and or difficulty to recreate.

+1 ^^^^

Plus best state what is that file size dimensions.......... because if you are talking 70x50 inches that is a substantial print so upsizing and what DPI to be printed at will come into play in the respect of the intended viewing distance.

As for price if private sale aim for at least 3x the costs of the finished print.......if IMO for a company to say hang in their offices perhaps double the above!

3 x COGS is a very basic method of pricing, oft repeated. It doesn't take into account the art involved or the skill. It also really doesn't work well for one-off, low cost of goods items. Maybe for large framed prints, or wedding albums - but not prints.

My COGS for the paper and ink involved in a 7x5" is less than £1. I'm never going to sell a photographic print at that size for £3 or £6....

Lets see what the OP comes back with - I'm expecting 70x50cm but you never know.
