hi.

long story short, I have taken some pics of my nephew (posted on a couple of weeks ago in the portraights section ) and have been playing with them.

I got this (with a little help from some TP templates)

B&WBookweb.jpg

now while I was there at my mums, sorting the instalation out, she had some visitors and they liked the effect and were talking about me doing some thign simialr for them (this is how it all starts lol)

I am still very new to photography and have a lots and lots to learn, but..

How much do you think would be fair to charge for them?

Obvioulsy I dont want to feel like i am ripping my self off but at the same time dont want to get greedy or anything.

Any suggestions

( I was thinking having them printed as A4, which woudl cost about £3 on photobox - £1.20 for the print + £1.50 for PNP)

nobody got any ideas at all?

dotn mean to be pushy but i have a woman wanting some of them, she is just waiting for me to give her a price

not sure mate but at the end of the day its up to you .
only thing i would say is this :suspect: ask yourself how long it will take to go there "or them to come to you" if you go there will it cost you petrol money,,
how long will the shoot take..
how long will the pp take you..
add up all these things ..
work out what its worth to you..

Best way of getting a good idea on a fair price is to look online for people offering something similar and see what they charge.

I suppose you could even just phone up photographers listed in a phone directory asking for a quote to do something similar.

Michael.

hey read your question.
i do portraits and been doing them for a year just a hobby that makes a bit of money.

i charge 20 pound for a one hour sitting and then price the photos they want

approx

10 pound 10 x 8

8 pound 8 x 6

6 pound 7 x 5

before you start get your prices spot on and type them up.

do not haggle as i have found i used to sell myself short

i know the photos are cheap to print out but the customer is paying for your skill and time.

do not undersell yourself

good luck
