Now I know the answer is next to nothing, but I'm a skint student so 'next to nothing' is still a big step up from 'nothing'!

It's a 2 megapixel Fuji Finepix 2800 Zoom with a few cosmetic marks but otherwise perfect, still got the receipt, box, accessories, and every single bit of paper and plastic that came with it, a hard foam-lined case configured to fit it perfectly, and a mains adaptor. It cost £300 new all those years ago (£400 with the adaptor and mighty 128Mb memory card!)! Oh how times have changed!

It's still capable of sharp shots, (albeit at a smaller resolution)

Well anyway, if anyone has any idea how much it's worth please let me know!

i would say you are better off keeping it, i think you would find it hard to get £30

but if you have the original box etc - put it away for 10 years it may well be worth a bit then (more then you paid)

Sick it on fleabay- and hope that a bidding war starts - one went yesterday for £41.00.......(linky)

I had one of those a few years back and despite it's low MP it took cracking shots, far better than some higher resolution cameras of the time. That said, I doubt you'll get more than 20 quid for it.

If it was me I'd give it to a junior family member in the hope it would inspire them...

If you really want to get rid off it, try part-exchange at your local camera store .

Last year I part exchanged an old Sony Cybershot (bought back in 2000) and was paid £60 for it, and I didn't have anything other than the camera, battery, and charger. I think that was a wonderful amount of money for a 7 yearsold camera.

That aside, I'd say remove the battery, pack it away, wrap it up nicely and store it for a couple of decades. It may well be worth a lot more than you originally paid for, by then.

I would say that the hard case and mains adaptor would be worth far more than the camera - without knowing exactly what they are, maybe up to a fiver. Staying in for a night rather than propping up the union bar is worth more. Sorry.

My youngest has an old cheap mobile phone of mine to play with that has higher resolution than that
a 1 megapixel camera will take better pictures than a mobile phone, 6MP looking through 30p of plastic lens will still produce a crap picture

Having said that the camera your selling is next to worthless these days, to give a comparison in 1995 I paid £2000 for a 486 DX2 66Mhz PC with a massive 512mb HD what do you think that's worth today :D
EDIT
I stand corrected, according to ebay completed listings anything between £25-£40 + post

Cheers for the replies everyone, I hadn't thought people would be willing to pay 40 quid for it though .

Resolution really isn't everything though, as said by wack61, I've got a Sony Ericsson K850, it's got a 5MP camera, but the photos from my very old fuji absolutely blow it out the water! Thanks again guys, just got to decide whether to stick it on eBay or keep it for a couple of decades....hmmmm

Had one of these when they first came out and a brilliant little camera for it's size. I've seen them go recently for as little as 20 quid. :'(
