Hi ya
I am about to sell a canon lens and replace it with a new one but have no idea about depreciation on a lens. The lens I am selling is the EF-S 17-85 f4-5.6 IS USM retailing new at £359
My lens is a couple of years old and in good condition so I guess it should be worth £200 with the hood. Is that about right?
The new lens is going to be either the EF 24-70mm f2.8 L or EF24-105mm f4 L - My money is on the 1st lens at the mo but I havent finished reading reviews and they both seem good. Just need to weigh up the pros and cons. The EF24-70 is fast but my concern is that it is heavy for hand held at slow shutter speeds. Should I be worried???
I currently also use the EF 70-200 f2.8 L (which is fantastic) so the EF24-70mm seems like a good focal length as companion. Or is it better to have a bit of a cross over on zooms if you only have one body?
Any thoughts, yes please.
(Guess I need a wide lens now, but I have no money and they all seem a bit pricy!!
)
