Well, like all things "rare" they it carries a premium.................so perhaps for the right buyer it will be a 'snip' :)

Rare seems to be the buzz word on eBay at the moment. Sellers must think they will get a sale with that description.
 
I've been told that such adverts may be part of money laundering or drug dealing.

Then again, they could be typing mistakes.

This lens is genuinely rare, there were only 20 of them made for a special order in 1948

Here’s another example at auction with an estimate of up HKD 280,000 to 400,000 (about £40,000)
