Hello guys,

Currently getting into 35mm black and white film. The question is how many rolls of film should I buy of Ilford HP5+

I will only be doing street photography but unsure of really how many rolls of film I should buy in a bulk order from AG photographic.

How many rolls do you guys usually buy and how quickly do you go through your rolls.

Obviously being street photography I am very selective with my shots, so NOT snappy happy.

Would like enough to last me approx 2 months until i buy another bulk.

Would 30/40 rolls be enough of 36 exposures you reckon?

We can't tell you this without more info. How often do you shoot? How much film will you get through in a single session? Work out that and then you should have a rough idea. Don't forget that film has a fairly long shelf life!

Well going by my experience of digital I very rarely takemore than 7/8 shots max when im out for a few hours on the street. Usually go out 3/4 times a week?

So we can estimate a film a week? 10-15 films over your 2 months should be more than enough.

It is a simple maths problem, most rolls have 36 exposures, so at your current shooting rate of 8 shots x 4 days a week = 32 + 4 spare shots

So one roll a week will suffice, buy yourself 10 rolls from Silverprint to get your 25% discount.

If you buy some today the film will last you until the beginning of November.
