Hello Filmies,

I can only wonder at trying to get 110 film onto a spiral and having seen auntiemaryscanary post here DIY developing tank I wondered if anyone had ever measured a 24 exposure 110 film ? I have no way of scanning at the moment so this would be a future project so the info would be just for reference . 17x24 but how much for either end of the film and spacing ? I'm trying to work out how long the tube would have to be then how much chemicals would be needed to fill it ?

Thanks all.

The section under "Design and Technical issues" here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/110_film with a bit of maths should give you an approximation. I doubt, but can't be sure, there would be much wasted film at the start or the end as that's what the backing paper is for.

Edit: unless info is available on t'internet the only surefire way is to sacrifice a film and then measure it. Of course if you are making a version of my torpedo/periscope machine (Pat Pending :) ) then just add an extra say 10 cm onto the the length of what you think the length comes to via the wiki example. My contraption holds around 350 ml of solution so another 10 cm in overall length will be around a few extra tablespoons of liquid.

Yet another 110 - 16mm developing option:

Thank you gentlemen , I have to first master the art of 35mm film processing and scanning using a digi camera but after that I would love to move on to 110 !

For all things sub miniature, or just film photography really, I can only suggest giving Paul at MS Hobbies a call. Apologies for mentioning him again but for questions like this he really does know his stuff.
