How is this effect achieved?

May sound like a daft question but as above.....

First few shots all have that 'weird perspective' look about them.
Is it a fish eye or some photoshop adjustments, or just the way they're framed?

Just a very wide angle, maybe a 10-20 at 10mm.

It doesn't look like fisheye. Looks more like a 10mm lens (10-20 or 10-22) in portrait with off camera blasting from below.

I agree - although I'm not evern sure the flash is off-camera. Looks like fill from an external but probably mounted on the camera.

By the way - nice website Tony. Love the colour scheme

I argree, I think it's the flash thats giving the odd effect coupled with the wide angle. Wayne

Certainly not fisheye, the dirt track is straight. Just a wide lens I think.

It's a wide angle lens (probably 10-22 or if on FF 16-35 or 17-55 or thereabouts. I'm not sure the flash is uised as a fill light though. Looks like a more balanced flash so camera in Manual and flash producing the power to light the subject.
