Evening all. Photography noob here.

One of my favourite automotive photographers at the moment is Alex Penfold. His shots of supercars around London are always brilliant.

What I've always wondered though is how this type of photo is achieved:

The depth of field is amazing. How can you achieve such great depth on such a large object? The Porsche is in perfect clarity!

You can view the exif on Flickr.
It's an 85mm/F1.8 lens and he used it at about F2, which has enough depth in focus for most of the car but still keeps the background nicely blurred.
