Rather a slow afternoon in the office and reflection comes upon me how your priorities change with stuff to buy..

This time last year or so, I'd have been itching for a new car, have to have the latest ohone and camera and lens and whatnot...

Now however, I have the means to purchase what I wanted.. New car, all the photo equipment and whatever.. But I have no desire to! Weird how the mindset changed now I've hit the ripe age of 24 [emoji23] happy plodding around in my Passat with a scarf, slippers on after work and a good cup of tea.

I always want and buy things when i'm skint but when i'm flush, it's enough to know i could buy it but don't really need it?
My mate and i have spent muchos on hobbies but we're both calming down, probably 'cos of realising that the latest whatever, does much the same as its previous incarnation

A good way to look at it rather than pounds spent look at it as hours of your life lost working to pay for it. Things start looking a little less appealing.

I was the same at about that age and oddly enough went out and bought a house and started a few ISAs by about 28. Now I am 46 I own the house I am in and another and looking at semi retirement at 55 is a real possibility. I say the earlier in life you get over spending all your money on "things" that don't add value to life the better.

But ...but.... but....
He who dies with the most toys wins!
