So, we wanted to order some things for our holiday - coolbox and UJK numberplate stickers. I put them in the basket, was told I would get free delivery (no mention of Prime), went to checkout and was told I would have to join Prime to get free delivery and then something about 30 days (which would be when I am on holiday). I tried getting out of this, but was then told I would have to pay £7.98 for delivery on £50 worth of goods. Why do they make things such a pain?

There is usually a small print option to decline Prime when that pops up, and when you get to the final stage of processing your basket, several options for delivery, Prime usually being top but very often a Free option that takes 2-3 days. You just have to look out for the not-bold options

Qualifying orders over £20 are free delivery anyway. Often worth paying a little extra to get something that qualifies rather than from a marketplace seller who's a couple of quid cheaper. Better protection/customer service from Amazon themselves rather than marketplace too, usually.

I have a couple of magazine subscriptions, when they have an offer to new subscribers, I cancel mine and next day re subscribe and get a free gift, simples ;)

Check the delivery date carefully if you need the items by a certain time, i.e check that they’re actually coming from Amazon stock and not just a seller using Amazon. Some of the Chinese suppliers on there say they’ll get something to you within a week but then it turns out to be two or three.

Managed to order them earlier, fingers crossed one due tomorrow, two due Wednesday.
