Hi all,

I've got a question for you all.

When taking landscape photo's how do you expose for the sky? When I take photo's i always end up with a blown sky or if increase the shutter speed I end up with an exposed sky and dark details in the foreground.

I've seen some photo's and the sky really adds to the photo. In mine the sky is always white.

I was just wondering what I need to do to achieve this.

Thanks in advance.

In short - ND Grad filters are the ideal solution.

Apart from that - You can always do a bit afterwards in terms of post processing. Under expose to retain detail in the sky and accept a dark foreground - unlike a blown white sky it's not too difficult to recover those dark areas from the foreground.

Another option is to take multiple exposures and combine them.
