Pleeeze can someone help me. I am putting together an urgent order from the lab and in the past they have told me to put 2 images of 2.5"x3.5" onto 1 canvas measuring 7"x5" as it is easier to print and works out cheaper.

I can create a blank canvas and I can copy pictures onto it, but I am having trouble getting both images to fit on together exactly - they appear much smaller.

Your help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

If you have 2 images of the same size then you are half way there.
Make a canvas that is the size of both together...
Eg: 6x4 needs a canvas of 12x4 (or 6x8 in portrait).

This done drag both images onto the canvas one to either edge (make sure that you maintain the aspect ratio)...

Job done

they seem to have told you wrong. you will be able to fit 4 images of that size ont a canvas of 7X5. two along each edge.

Like oldgit says the canvas only wants to be double the size of ONE edge of the image. which will give you 2 images along the one line, and one high.

make sense?

Thanks Paul. I think I have done what you suggested and not sure if it going to work. I went to File>New>and chose a preset of 5x7...... Oh! just thought that is wrong isn't it? If I have 2 images both in landscape and both measure 2.5" x 3.5" - what size canvas do I need to create please. It is late and my brain hurts.....

You only multiply on ordinate by 2 not both.

So for landsape you get 5x3.5, or for portrait 2.5x7

HTH

Yeah that's great Paul. With what you and Janice had said, I went and had another go and that is exactly what I came up with and just printed it out to check the dimensions - perfek!

What would we do without the help from you peeps? :notworthy: :notworthy: Aah!

Thank you and Goodnight. :)
