How do I stop my Safari Classic head from tipping down?

Hi,
Apologies if this has been posted before... I did search but couldn't find an answer.

I have a safari classic head and ringflash, but as soon as I add a modifer of any weight, the head tips down. How do I get it to stay at the angle I want it to be at? Do I need to tighten anything up (and if so, what?) or do I add a sandbag or something to the bar at the back of the head to try and balance it?

I appreciate that for some people this may be a pretty dumb question, but I would be grateful for a serious helpful reply.

Thank you for any advice offered.

This is the handle I mean:

Hi,
Thanks for the reply, and for supplying the picture. I don't have the handle (or at least I don't have it to hand). Would it have been supplied as a standard accessory when I bought the kit? And if I had it and lost it, is it possible to purchase another?

Gary

Only the very first models didn't have that handle, from memory they had what is basically a wingnut.

On later models, the handle was supplied as standard. If I was guessing here, I would say that you bought it second hand and didn't get everything that you should have got.

If yours looks like the photo and there is a threaded hole for the handle, just PM me with your name and address and I'll sort something out for you.

:clap:Gary your service is second to none! I can't see Bowens or any other big boys give this kinda personal service to a second hand users of the brand!

I'm not a second hand user, but I have to agree, the after sales service and advice does appear to be very good indeed.

Sent you a PM Garry - would really appreciate your help.

I'll get one in the post on Monday, it will completely solve the problem. What you describe isn't the adjustment handle, it's a hand grip that fits into the stand socket, allowing it to be hand held instead of fitting it to a stand.

That makes sense now - thanks for the clarification. I appreciate you sending me one in the post as it will obviously make a big difference to me. :)

If I may make a suggestion, it might be a good idea to list the parts sold with a kit so the buyer knows whether they've received everything, and alos in my case, they then also know what each part is used for. I had no idea about the hand grip and didn't realise that one would come with the kit! Thanks for all your help.

Hi,
I just wanted to say a very big thank you to Garry Edwards for sending me the handle as promised. It works a treat and I'm really happy.

Now that's what I call fantastic customer service - VERY impressed.

Gary
