I could do with some advice please. I have a Canon 3000v which has only ever had 2 rolls of film through it. Its in its origonal packaging with all docs and an extra zoom lens.. Where should I advertise it for sale and what sort of price should I ask? Thanks for the advice.

Hi.

Ebay? Facebook? Or if you don't want the hassle you could ask a used equipment shop if they'd offer you a price for it. I recently sold quite a few film era lenses that way. You could try Googling "buy used film camera" and see which sellers come up and give a couple a ring and see if they'll make you an offer.

Good luck.

Hi and welcome to TP

Following @woof woof suggestions....

You might find that London Camera Exchange would be interested but don't get your hopes up......a Google suggests that the Body might have sold value of between £30 - £60.......so if sold the lot to a shop I surmise you might be offered as little as £20 to £30 ?

PS or see if it might be worth your while and the shops while to try a "commission sale"?

This company AFAIK has a good reputation

One thing which crossed my mind when I posted above that I didn't mention is postage costs. If a dealers offers you £20 and your postage cost is £12 you might think there's not a lot of incentive there. Some dealers do however send you a label and if that happens postage costs you nothing... as long as you have the packaging.

Another option could be to donate the kit to a charity or a school/college or even the disabled photographers charity. I've donated rather than sold loads of computer kit over the years and seeing the happy recipients gave me a warmer glow than I'd have gotten trying to sell it and boxing the stuff up. Or maybe you have a family member of friend who'd like it?

As above. Good luck.

The 3000v was a starter camera >20 years ago.
Whilst there’s a market for film cameras still, obviously people are more interested in higher end kit.

However, the 2 lenses you have may have more value, as they’re still usable with the latest cameras. But again, there were some really bad kit lenses that there’s not much interest in. However, there are some old film era lenses that are still quite popular.
