Yes
Im getting married in december and are buying our rings next month, I would love to try and get a shot like this to add to our wedding album as a surprise to other half. We are getting the wedding photography done by a pro but I was going to pass him the image to shop and make it look as good as possible and add to the storybook.

I would really appreciate if somebody could tell me the best way to get the soft lighting into the kind of image below, would candlelight work to make it soft?

examples of what im after

A single flashgun not far away would do that nicely - anything much softer and the shadow wouldn't be so strong so the effect would be diminished

Be careful to pick the right text for it too though - you don't want it on the passage about adultery

or coveting thy neighbour's ass!!

It's not the lighting that makes the image 'soft' IMO, so much as the work in Photoshop afterwards (particularly with the second example).

I was thinking of dear deidre from the sun or NUTS letters page with lucy pinder lol.

Thanks guys ill have a good few tries just wanted pointing in the right direction. Was thinking of using the dictionary and putting it on the word Love and and focusing on this so other words would be o.o.f and unreadable.

opinions?
thanks

I done one of these for a still life recently and just used a candle, give a pretty nice effect,

Less hassle than a torch.
