Hi

Im no sure how to explain this but here goes...

Ive just seen this pic by Marcel Pick Me and i was wanting to know how i could keep the picture monochrome but have more than one object in colour, i know how i would just do one object (well my way is lasoo tool, then go to select and ivert then desaturate, so if theres an easier way please tell me thanks) Im using CS2 just so you know

Thanks everyone

Read up on layer masks - will completely change the way you work once you get your head around them.

In the meantime: 1. Duplicate your coloured layer (flattened) 2. Convert layer to B&W via whichever method you choose 3. Erase the areas of the top layer so as the colour shows through from the bottom layer.

This is a destructive method though & erased sections are gone for good so you must be very precise - layer masks are non-destructive so you can alter your image as much as you like, adding, subtracting or replacing areas without affecting the actual image

that will do me fine until i learn about layer masks, cheers mate
