how do i check how many shutter releases my 30D has done?

As you all know, i bought my camera last week from Jessops, it was a display one so wasn't sealed, i asked to make sure and the salesman assured me it had only been on display, so i bought it because it was the last 'kit'. On getting it home and inserting my memory card from my old 10D, folders started at canon525 and is upto 527 so far, will this be fom my old camera and the memory card taking info from that, or is my 30D actually used?

it will have taken on the numbering from the 10D

Yup, it will have taken the numbering from the memory card.

Unfortunately, there's no easy way of finding out the actual actuations it's done, short of sending it to Canon.

thank god for that lol, i've just formatted my card and it's started at 100-001
