I am sure this preview window was grey before but some how I have accidentally changed it to white.

I have looked everywhere to see how to change the colour......any clues anyone?

I Googled and found the answer :bonk:

As you answered your own question, im adding mine... How do you make the background in PS CS2 grey, atm mine is transparent which is quite distracting as ive got a photo-slideshow as a desktop wallpaper.

Im sure in Windows it defaults to grey, but on me Mac its not.

Hiya Dreeder.......

All I did was to pick the colour I wanted the background to be (neutral grey for me) then clicked on PAINT BUCKET and filled the window in while holding down the SHIFT KEY.

HTH.

Tried that, but dont think I explained it too well, here is a link

The only PS window open is KX7G9643.jpg window, Navigator, Toolbar and Layers, everything is my desktop.

 Not sure Dreeder.......maybe someone who is on Mac might be able to help.

Is there anything in the Window or View options on the drop down bar?

Found my own answer...Here

Not exactly what I wanted to here, but its a "Feature" lol, guess ill have to learn to live with it, and eventually make use of it.

P-E Did you ever sort your problem out?

If not, allow me to answer :)

Select the colour you WANT it to be as your foreground colour, then using the Paint Bucket tool, hold down SHIFT and click into the white 'background' area that you want changing.

It keeps this preference between files too :)

Hope this helps.

if you go edit/preferences/general and click through the otions you can set as default the colour you wish.. ;)

as it is late i am now going to open up PS to check

its called transparency and gamut

if you reset to defaults settings make sure you change the number of undoes to about 50 !

It aint there
That's where I thought it would be at first, but only the Transparency, and the Guides/Grid/Slices colour changing options are held in there.
