11 month old twins....

Go to bed around 7 - 7.30 after a feed....

I am ninja chef in the kitchen, and guaranteed within about a minute of a lovely tea / dinner (depending if north or south) being ready, they suddenly awake!

Sometimes, 1, often both... and then just about 20 mins later when it's ruined... "Hmm, I'll (we'll) go back to sleep now!"

Oh dear :( I'd throw your toys out the pram if I were you :D maybe wait till they've fallen asleep and then go and cry loudly in their room :D

They're fine by two years old, well, apart from the tantrums (but that is easily solved by ignoring them).

In fact it gets steadily better until they leave home. :)

Now how you feel, it's like a conspiracy theory!

Can i legally evict them at 11 months, or do I have to have some duty of responsibility? I have a shed and a garage they can sleep in??

No but I think you've definitely been wronged.

You need to teach them to read, then teach them personal responsibility for their actions.
Then....and only then, can they feel the wrath of one of your infamous complaint letters :D

It gets worse, trust me!! :)

Just off to research if you can sack your own child.. ;)

Actually in reality I will snuggle them both and then pretend to be asleep with them until approx 07.30 whilst Mrs S, does breakfast chores including lunch, before i make a mad dash at 07:56 for the 07:57 bus....

Oh just you wait until they are a bit older, you won't be worried about dinner being ruined, it is when you hear them on the landing out even worse the bedroom door opening when you are having "special cuddles" with the missus.

you spend the first two years getting them to walk and talk, and the next 16 getting them to sit down and shut up ...

I've got young ones, a newborn and a teenager.

I've just worked out that between all our 4 kids, my wife and I will have managed at least one child under the age of six for twenty odd years.

Ya could always just IGNORE them like till you've finished your tea. After all, if their crying then you know their OK. Its when they suddenly STOP crying that you need to drop every thing and run.

Your not being a bad Parent if you OCCASIONALLY leave them to cry for a bit!

Lynton, at present if you place them in one place they stay there, give it a bit longer and you won't know where they will turn up then you will know about imperfect timing.

Exactly. Leave them to cry. It's not difficult.

This would be just as appropriate in one of the photography forums. I have more outtakes from trying to get pictures of my kids on holiday than I have usable pictures!

Pah, I've given up on eating a decent/hot meal... I've given up on lie ins... on having a drink of squash to myself... of uninterrupted 'saucy' time...

Pretty much everything now is like a relay race

Stop trying to cheer him up

I'd have let them cry.

I find its best to keep them in a barrel until they're 18 and just feed them through the bunghole .. that way they aren't at all inconvenient

It gets easier.

14 month old asleep upstairs, mrs is out with the girls from the nct group. All of them out together for curry, while us husbands stay at home babysitting.

I am allowed two bottles of beer.

Do a J** - lock yourself in the crapper until you can go out and hide in the car... 18 years in an U*? I think even I would rather put up with kids!!!

I didn't say there was a right or wrong. But given the situation as described, I'd have let them cry.

well possibly.. and that's another thing you and I will not agree on. given live in a mid terrace house, I have some consideration for neighbours (at times - unless they are being complete retards! Neighbours that is!!)

Perfect. Off to ebay to purchase a pair of aforementioned barrels!

How many restraining orders will it take for you to realise that's not an acceptable way to keep a girlfriend?

:exit:

Pete's idea of a restraining order is "Oi! Sit still while I tie the knots."

Being left to cry, and therefore learning how to self sooth, are really important parts of a child's development.....your neighbours won't like it, but they need to be left to cry it out.

The older they get before you tackle this one, the harder it will be when you do.

my father when mum was in labour with my sister came out with the gem " is this ****ing baby going to take much longer, ive got a bloody darts match tonight"

Good to see a man with his priorities in the right order :bang:
