Hi folks

Before I went to work in Poland, I bought a Nikon 300 F/4. I'm using a 1.4x Kenko. And a Nikon D7000.

So, figure I'm somewhere at 630mm ish.

How physically close should I be getting to get decent bird photos? Is there a calculation? Obviously depends on the bird. But just some approximations. I'm currently deciding where to go play on my week off!

Thanks in advance

Thank you Bob

Distance = (Focal Length / Sensor Size) * Subject Width

Distance = (300mm / 22.5mm) * 1m

13.3m. Should be right?

Yes, although a 1 metre wide wren sounds formidable.

Bob
