Hi

I have tried running CS2 on my pc and it runs slower than a dog going backwards.

My pc spec is Athlon Xp2400 (2ghz) processor and 1.25gb DDR memory. I know ideally I should look to upgrade the whole system, but is there anything I could change such as increasing memory to at least speed things up in the meantime?

Thanks

Rob

up the RAM

Seperate scratch disc. Or Raid array

Adjust cache and history levels.

I found the scratch disk killed my photoshop, I had to reinstall it in the end. I seperated my hard drive and made a small partition (25gb) for the scratch disk. Works like a charm now. You can also change the scratch disk settings to erase on exit I think, but don't quote me on that.

Can you format? That can usualy speed you up a bit. Also try ebay for peoples old RAM - 2Gb can help also peoples old Athlons. Stuff should be going mega cheap.

Defragmenting the drive often helps, run disc cleaner first, then defrag.
