They don't want a canvas, they want a print but just in a size which is huge.. I don't know where to even think about looking

find a place with a 44 inch printer

OK, am at a computer now rather than writing from my phone...
to go into a little more detail

I have had someone ask me to take a photo of their child which they then want blowen up to 1meter by 1.5 meters. i now have 2 problems

1. I am using the Canon EOS 40D meaning it is a 10.1MP camera, meaning (theoritically) that in order to get the best photo quality, I should only really be printing up to 16 inch x 11 inchs.

2. what companys out there can print that size if I am able to overcome point 1??

I know billboards are created from normal sized images so am confident there is software out there that can increase the file size...

any guidance would be fantastic

thanks

as I have been told often - size is not important.....

Its the viewing distance that is what effects the size you can print to - generally the bigger the image, the further away you look at it.... go to a billboard and get as close as you can - you'll see it's almost like lego...

If it is just a photo, with no type you'll get as good quality supplying the file you have without resizing (you might have to crop to the correct shape) - if you are adding type resize to the fininished size, sharpen, then add the type.

great answer here.

You need to understand how this print is going to be used.

Printing at A0 (1.1 x 0.8 meters) and smaller is more common that I can see but you need someone that can print to 2A0 (1.6 x 1.1 meters).
