I was wondering if anyone knows of a good source of information about the operation of canon flashguns. I would like to know things like the pinout of the hot shoe, voltages required to trigger different events and really anything that would help in the design of a DIY flash trigger.
I've done a fair bit of googling and there is lots of information about nikon triggers but I couldn't see anything very detailed about the canon system. I did see a lot of high speed triggers designed for doing water droplets and the like but they use photocouplers on the output to give high voltages like 250+V. I read that canon recommends you don't exceed 6V with newer flashes so i'm not sure if any of these designs are suitable (and anyway, I still need the flash pinout). Cheers
