I am a newbie...just finding my way around my canon 400d....i thought i might go to a butterfly park tomorrow...but then i thought.....is this going to mess my camera up..by being too hot and humid....??? I have visited before and it is like a 'rainforest environment'....please give me the benefit of your 'know-how'.......many thanks......jackie...

It may well "steam up" a little but it should be momemtary. Don't be tempted to wipe it off. If you wear glasses you'll probably have more trouble from them. 
As was said above, try to keep it as close to the ambient temp as possible.

took my nikons into a butterfly house twice with no worries at all, so you should be fine. As mentioned, try and warm the camera first [on floor of car under heater for 10 minutes maybe] Have fun, butterfly houses are great!
