I was lucky enough to be given a hot air balloon ride for a recent birthday.
I expect this to be an extra special occassion and would like some quality pictures to remember it by.

My question is.....

Shoud I be buying any more equiptment or doing any special preparation?

I have a Minolta 5D (or is it D5) with the kit 18-70 lens and a Sigma 70-300 APO DG....
I think it's about time I bought a polarizing filter for the zoom lens, but any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

May I be the first one to suggest a very good strap and possibly tying the camera to your leg :)

Other than that I agree that you should get a polarizer

Wear a hat, I went in a balloon whilst on holiday in Egypt, even though we left at dawn it was still hot in the basket thanks to the burners. The hat will ensure you come home without a burnt head. Camera wise I used a powershot g6 and got some good pics but I agree you may want the cp filter and a good strap.
