Hood or no hood.

I have just got myself some hitech slot in filters and a holder, and have had some reasonable results, the filter holder has a 95 mm thread for a hood and other accessories and before I go and purchase a hood to fit it, what does everyone else do when using nd filters etc ??? hood or no hood.

If you're unsure then use the hood all the time as long as it doesn't interfear with the shot. There's no dissadvantage other than the fact it's more difficult to move the filters around.

The hood is an advantage even if just for protection.

Hood every time
It's like wearing sunglasses,they work well,but if looking into the sun and you hold you're hand over you're eye's to shade the glasses you get a view without flare......
