After the topic a while back I had posted to say I was looking into my own, well after a busy weekend since getting them back on Friday here they are

Pair of old ripped waterproof pants (doing the splits doesn't work when wearing them lol) a craft knife out the tool box to get creative with the cuts along the bottom and for tripod collars (which were measured for each of my lenses)

I then dropped them at a "dress makers" who set about sowing some elastic in one end and sowing the tripod collar holes

Total cost of the exercise £3.50

I have one for the Sigma 120-300 which would work perfectly on a 300mm and also a smaller one for a 70-200 which both fit nicely

I opted to leave the zip from bottom of legs in there and at the back of camera, this can give me more space/flexibility if needed, changing memory cards etc so its at the bottom and out of the way

While it may not be the best option/solution its something that can be used occasionally when needed

Excellent Steven.
Looks like they put a zip in as well at the bottom.

steve, nice one...i have fashion a similar cover for my gear...except i have done the work myself but only upto cutting and sizing up..nice touch with elastic and tripod etc...

Cheers guys

the zip was there from the pants anyway so thought I would make use of it

I use plastic carrier bags and elastic bands. Works superbly and very cheap too.

Maybe so but for £3.50 and ten minutes spare time I know what I prefer
