Hi - i hope someone can help.....please. I bought an Interfit EX150 MKII home studio lighting kit. I have set it all up, as per the DVD instructions, the lightbox is connected to the lighthead and is illuminated....all is fine. I have set up the 2nd light exactly the same (with the reflector hood on this one) but i cant get the light to switch on! i have pressed the "test" button and it flashes so the bulb is working, as is the cable. but that is all it does "flashes"! ideally i want to use one light on the background and the softbox at the front. i have pressed the "model" button (this switches the light on and off) but nothing happens! i have watched the DVD over and over and i dont think ive missed anything. Would anyone know if im doing something wrong or perhaps the lighthead is faulty? thanks. Jen

Does the unit actually have a modelling lamp in it?

The flash light will not give continuous light, there has to be 2 separate lamps in the unit

something like this:

If yes and they both have one then swap them over and see if it works in the other fitting. If so then the answer is the lamp has gone. If not then the answer is the head unit is faulty

thanks paul. there are 2 nr EX150 MKII heads, with two 100W bulbs, (one in each unit), i have swapped them over and the same unit still wont give me continuous lighting. the dvd demonstrates what i have and both are lit!

well I am afraid to say it looks like a dodgy head unit. If the lamps have swapped over and both are working fine then thats all about you can do.
If you bought it new then send it back for a replacement

mmmh, just as i thought, im a bit annoyed because this will be the 2nd time ive taken it back.....the softbox was missing 1st time! thanks for your help paul

Well let them know about your dissatisfaction at having to return twice and that so far you are not impressed with your purchase, you may get something off them as a gesture of goodwill. Maybe a snoot etc or another light shaping tool
