So school is back into the swing of things once again and I'm getting the chance to do home care this semester. I just got home from my first day out in the community, and tbh I don't think I will ever go back to working in a Nursing home. :shake: I absolutely loved being out there. Meeting all the different people who really do appreciate what your doing for them. It's very different from the facilities and it's such an amazing feeling! anyway I just wanted to share my good news with all of you! :D

Glad you have been released. Hope the community are safe...ahem... sorry, pleased! :D

Good for you, Jewel! I LOVED working in the community when I was a midwife, You really get to know people as individuals when you see them in their homes.......it's a priviledge, (sp?) not a job. Hope that rosy glow lasts a long time. :)

Glad you enjoy it :)

When I was a kid my mum used to get 'home help' with looking after my dads mum. Basic stuff not really nursing but very much appreciated as it gave her a break. Don't know if you are doing that or proper nursing care but I do know how much it means to those receiving it. Seemed ordinary stuff to me at the time and I remember wondering why they would want to do the job. Things seem clearer now and it's great to hear that you find the work rewarding.
