Hello

Looking to get a alarm fitted. Thinking of control panel, wireless sensors, key fobs and must be fully fitted.

Any decent makes or companies i should be looking at. Warwickshire area.

Thanks

www.ssaib.org - check for a registered installer in your area.
Honeywell Galaxy G2 hybrid is excellent and quality professional kit, don't get a system where the keypad is part of the main panel, you want an end station out of sight and operated by a remote keypad/prox-reader at your entrance area.

IMHO opinion they need to be connected to the police and you also need to think about a couple of key holders. We also have a radio controlled panic button which my wife likes the comfort of if I am out/away.

+1 although not necessarily the police. We have a home alarm monitored by a 3rd party company.

They can open a two way audio connection and challenge any 'intruder' for a passphrase which they set up with the householder. One indicates an 'oops sorry accidental activation and I'm safe' and a second which is 'this blokes got a gun to my head get the police here NOW!).

If they fail to get the correct passphrase then they call the police to respond.

Agree about police response, indeed I wouldn't use a company who couldn't offer police response as they will not be an 'inspected' company required to install to standards and checked for compliance.
Police requirements on PA buttons have changed recently and certain types are no longer approved for police response.

as long as you get a decent engineer to fit it you'll be good to go

invariably any company registered with www.ssaib.org or www.nsi.org.uk will probably have a police response capability. Of late requirements for a police response have changed and systems now need a double-confirmation before police will attend. The police response obviously comes at a price too. I often question as to whether police response is necessary. If you live in a remote cottage I would say probably yes, however, in an urban area I am of the opinion probably not. If the alarm goes off the offenders would probably scarper immediately. There is the argument that some people would rather have a silent alarm with police response in the hope that the offenders are arrested, which is fair enough, however, police response is only if there is suitable resources available. If another big incident has occurred and resources are committed elsewhere, the police response might not be as immediate as you would hope. These are just some things I would bare in mind and are purely my opinion.

:shake: Limited value for money and extended liability with equipment which may have embedded engineer programming making it next to impossible to change provider.

:shake: Police response is the first response, coupled with a keyholder response and audible sounders it is simply the right system to go for.

Where an earth do you lot all live??

One of these may help:p:D
