Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me as to what a Holga lens is? Im sorry if this is a silly question have just been trawling ebay and found this and unsure of what it is? Thanks in advance :)

A Holga lens is a small plastic lens found on Holga cameras, they can only be used on Holga cameras. There is a Diana lens (like Holga, same brand) that is pretty much the same and can be used on DSLRs with an adapter.

They are crappy bits of plastic because they are designed to give crap images (well technically imperfect anyway) with errors like lens flare and softness however it is a nice effect that they give off and one that many photographers have tried :)

Thank you luke, did a quick google search but didnt want to wade through the sales websites so you have cured my curiosity :)

Best thing to do is to get a cheap 35mm Holga camera for around £20 on eBay and have a quick play about, put in a cheap pound roll of film from Poundland and then develop it at Jessops etc.

Best thing is that if they mess up on the photos it still adds to the effect so you can't lose

You take your finely crafted DSLR, the best you can afford. You learn the skills of photography to the best of your ability. Your post-processing skills, gleaned from hours of poring over magazines, web sites and forums fine tune your results to perfection [in your eyes]. Then you go and trash it all by sticking a cheap bit of plastic with the finesse of a yogurt pot and clingfilm on the body. Done it myself :D

You can now buy Holga lenses with the correct bayonet fitting for your camera. I have a Canon one.
