Yes
I have a basic YN-460 flash, i want to hold colour correction gels to it, its fine when using it with the built in reflection board its fine as an extra diffuser pops down that the gel can go under.

now I'm after a way of holding the gels when not in 'bounce mode'. what does everyone else do?

The gels I use are wider than the flash head so I can bend them around the sides and hold them with an elastic band.

I got a kit off eBay that included a strip of velcro that you wrap around the front end of the flash [just holds itself on] then you apply some self adhesive velcro dots at the ends of your strips of coloured gel that then attach those to the strip.

I'm not sure that sounds very clear, have a look at this page on Strobist which is something similar to what I do: http://strobist.blogspot.com/2006/03/lighting-101-using-gels-to-correct.html

Quality Street wrappers and a Post Office red elastic band.

Simples...

Cheaps...

I just fold mine over the flash head and use elastic bands, easy.

I've used velcro, but find a little dob of bluetac works brilliantly too.

Or try a bit of selotape/gaffer tape/insulating tape on each end.

Get some "funky foam" from Hobbycraft (or similar store) and cut a strip 2" - 3" wide which will go around your flash head and overlap itself by about 2". Attach some very sticky double sided tape to one end and make a complete circle, then slip this over the head (like a large elastic band) - this will allow you to slip the ends of the gels (you might need to trim them down) between the foam and the head. It can also be used for attaching bounce cards etc.

yeah I'd seen the velcro method on the strobist 101 blog, wondered if there was a 'better' way, looks like I'll stick (lol) with that or the elastic band for now.
