You will definitely find that by sticking with the 52 you photography will improve.
One of the things I would suggest you do when you post your 52 shots is to say what you like about the image and what you think could be improved. This way you think about your image subjectively.
Now to this shot...
Accommodation is a difficult theme and for it you've chosen a crumbling building which certainly fits with the theme, even though if I saw the image without knowing the theme I wouldn't automatically think "accommodation". My eye wanders round the image without actually ever stopping on something which tells me that the subject doesn't stand out and I think that's reinforced by the change in exposure across the image (dark bottom and left, bright top and right.
I would suggest, if you can, revisit this location and spend a while really looking at the scene, wandering around it and looking for different perspectives (try lying on the floor, standing on something). Asking yourself what is it that draws your eye and then ask yourself what distracts from that. Quite often an image is made by what is left out the image rather than what is in the final shot.
