Hi all

I'm going down to Cornwall for a week over Easter and I thought I'd try my hand at some seascapes and capturing a bit of rugged Cornish coastline.

I've not used any ND Grads before but I thought a set might be useful for this situation. I've done a bit of reading around and thought Hitech might be the brand to plump for as the seemed to be of a reasonable quality without breaking the bank.

I suspect most shots will be taken with a Canon 1Ds MkII with a 17-40L on a tripod. The 85mm filters are half the price of the 100mm filters. Can I use the 85mm filters or will I run into any problems?

If I can use 85mm filters which is the best holder system for them?

What filters should I start with?

Cheers

I bought a kood holder for £5 and the 85mm soft nd grads. I haven't run in to any problems @ 17mm on a 1.6 crop, but not sure about full frame.

Prob worth looking at hard grads for seascapes.

Anybody used 85mm filters on 17-40L on FF camera before? Are there any problems I should be aware of?

TIA

I take it there's no problem with the 100mm Hitech filters? Any recommendations for a holder?

Cheers
