I'm planning a trip to Highgate Cemetery and was wondering what their definition of "Professional Photography" is. The entrance fee allows you to take Photographs but it states that "Professional photography, video cameras and tripods are not allowed", does that mean no DSLR's?

I was just wondering if anyone on the forums had been before.....

Thanks,
Mark

I would argue that the definition of "professional" was with a view to selling images commercially. I can understand the tripod restriction (size) but video as well? I'd contact them to clarify - nothing worse than being declined entry because you have a detachable lens!

I would give them a call and check.

I'll give them a call...Thanks

Thought I would reply to my own thread with the response (may prove useful for future searches):

This was the reply from e-mailing Highgate, I told them I would be using a DSLR camera with no Tripod:

Photography is allowed but as you already said, for personal use only. Professional photography is usually defined when the pictures are sold and published. Tripods are definitely NOT allowed. I don't see a problem with the type of camera you have.

So there you have it...

It doesn't say you can't use a monopod!!;)
