Just found out there is a way to watch higher quality version of most of the videos on youtube!

Youtube compresses videos once they have been uploaded by the users, but it seems there is a way of watching this uncompressed uploaded version (or near to it). All you have to do is add &fmt=18 at the end of the url for the video.

So for example this random clip of mine, which is quite blocky etc - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELu4z17k8TI - turns out much better with the addition to the url - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELu4z17k8TI&fmt=18

Guessing this is something Youtube are planning on releasing sometimes soon, and it seems to be pretty damn usefull :)

EDIT - also you can use &fmt=6 to see a sort of midway quality :)

<EDIT - doesnt seem it can be used with embedded youtube videos though>

hehe thanks ;)

Just spreading the joy :p

Dont tell Sven!
