High res images for download via Wordpress

Hi all.

I have a Wordpress site, and I've been asked to shoot a prom. The organiser wants one password for the attendees to use to download high res images for personal use. Can I just set up a password protected gallery in WP and upload high res images? or will there be a potential issue with file size? (I'm expecting there to be IRO 300 or so shots)

If the above is not viable, does anyone have any ideas on how I should go about it?

It could be done in wordpress but would be a lot easier to put them on dropbox and share a link. It would reduce the bandwidth being used on your site then.

I have considered Dropbox, but was trying to drive traffic toward my website. Bandwidth is an issue though
 
Password protect a page on your website with a few images on it and include the link to dropbox. Sorted :)
 
Perhaps (It definitely is) me, but when trying to create a folder in Dropbox, it's prompting me to provide an email address? How do I create a folder and share it without 100 plus email addresses?
 
Click on the share option for the folder and there's an option called 'copy link' anyone with this will be able to access the folder.
