Yes
Does using high ISO 6400 and higher affect IQ other than noise.

But the image can still be used (I know that's not the question asked).

Try to fill the frame as much as possible. Also remember the noise will look far worse on a monitor than in a print.

Also - very high ISO can make the colours look slightly off.
For example, the 5DII colours are spot on at 3200, starting to look slightly less natural at 6400 and noticeably off by 12800.

I also have a 60D, and my rule of thumb for a decent A3 print is max ISO 2500.
You can just get away with it as long as the exposure was correct.
Looks horrible on screen at 100%, but that's not the point :)

:agree:

This really surprised me the first time I had to shoot a Wedding ceremony at ISO 1,600 way back in the day when that was a MASSIVELY high, DO NOT USE, ISO, and there wasn't much software about for noise reduction :eek::eek:

About 7 years ago

The noise on the 12mp image was horrid and the couple wanted it in their album at a size of about 10x8" :shake::shake::shake:

When I got the prints back only a photographer would even have really noticed, the couple just loved it :)

Its only us togs that really worry about noise :bonk:
