Hi, Just been given permission to setup my two man hide in a private woodland, woodland runs N to S with the South end being furthest away from the road by quite some way so as the hide has three sides with the same offerings for camera position and obviously one for entry/exit what direction would you face the hide.
Thank You,
Russ.

Depends on a lot of things really, where the critters are, what they are etc etc but my main consideration was light. My hide cut outs are on the North East face of the hide, the sun rises to the right of it, goes around the back and sets to the left.

EDIT :- please don't forget to show us the progress of this. (y)

As a start, put it where the light is best then move it once you know where it'll be in a better spot.

Looking at the picture you posted......................I echo what others have said as in 'it depends' a good few reccies to look, listen and observe any wildlife present would be a a helpful activity.

Having said that I note from that aerial photograph that there are some areas at the southern end with clearings and potentially that would allow for some/better photographic potential with better light???

Hi, Yes I placed the hide at the top end as not so dense also there is a part open field with a very large tree stump and looking at tempting Buzzards I hope.
