I bought a "mountain" tripod at Ffordes this week after grappling with my old but lightweight tripod (it had actually died several years ago but I did not admit it). Once I got it home the mag alloy head did not fit the tripod so I took it back today.

After Steve politely showed me that it had an "insert" that I could remove it all fitted perfectly, doh! :bang:

I then spotted some L glasses in his second hand section and before I knew it I had bought another bloody lens. Very nice it is but god a new (2nd) tripod, new lens plus other paraphernalia in one week, I don't deserve to be in charge of plastic.:( :cuckoo:

Please tell me it's not just me :help:
 
I'm having the same fight with myself at the moment. I really "need" a new lens but I just paid of my credit cards and bought a Mac Pro.... somebody needs to restrain me.
 
I thought not.

I do not shoot "long" very often so the the thought of a 70-200 2.8L was a bit much but was the next obvious choice to add to my L collection. Ffordes had an immaculate 80-200mm 2.8L and relieved me of just a few pennies more than 400 quid for it. Hard case included but no tripod collar.

Many difference is not TC compatible and no USM motor but seems pretty fast and saves at least 300 nicker towards the 5D that is next on my list. drool, quiver, etc........
 
Useful quick lens there. ;)
