Hiya

Welcome to TPF

Until someone with buying experience comes along ... type 'Buying From Hong Kong' in the Search Box ... theres a whole host of threads there.
Hth. :)

 Welcome to TP!

Personally I've never bought anything from HK, but I know of a couple of people that have and I don't think they've had any problems.

The two things you have to watch out for would be fraud (obviously) and import taxes, which a lot of stuff gets hit by. Some of the bigger exporters (digital rev or one stop for sure) pay any import taxes or VAT that you get charged, so that negates that part of the problem. Again, they're probably more trustworthy than some of the "smaller" sellers as they've got an established name and a reputation to worry about. A couple of bad posts about them on a couple of forums would cause a few problems for them.

hth?

Welcome to the forum Phil ..

I have bought lots of gear from Hong Kong on Ebay.

I tend to use two sellers the most (without any problems).

Digital-rev & urgalaxy

Only buy from the auctions that warrant 100% no UK duty/VAT though.
