Hi ive owned a simple point and shoot camera for a year, and just been getting more and more into photography so I bought my first slr its a canon 1000d with 18-55mm lens, I'm only going to be using it for car photos and track days can you help me on what to but next,i have a tripod and thats about it thanks
 
im from scunthorpe uk, ive just taken some pictures of light trails on the motorway and quite impressed with my 1st attempt
 
Welcome Kieran. From your reference to track days it sounds like you're into sports. You might like to look at the Canon 55-250mm zoom lens. This is an excellent lens for the money and would make a great sports lens for those on a tight budget.

There's a guy named Kerso who hangs around here who should be able to give you a good price on the lens. I've never used him myself but he is very highly thought of by the locals.
